Stacie Larsen is a former cosmetologist turned serial entrepreneur and the most visible and popular photographer in her town. While contemplating opening a photography studio with some friends in another town, she realized that she could take that money and open her own studio in her own town and continue to establish her presence there.
In addition to shooting there herself, Stacie turned her downtown studio into a co-op called The Ogden Click where photographers lease space, particularly during the winter when the weather isn’t as favorable for outdoor shooting. She has started a number of businesses that compliment her photography studio including a boutique beauty salon and now a small photography printing shop to serve her network of photographers.
Stacie recalls meeting people that would showcase pictures of themselves that didn’t really feel authentic. She offered to help them find a look more true to their selves and started connecting with clients through those types of experiences. She started catering to her clientele, making sure she had enough availability to accommodate all of their needs. Going so far as to refuse to have a website in an effort to keep her business load manageable.
Stacie Larsen Photo and Film and The Ogden Click are currently thriving and continuing to grow. Stacie says she’s done building businesses, but you never know with her. She feels best when busy and I bet if the right opportunity presented itself, she’d jump right into it.
